Tioga County Sportsmens Association Club Operating/Safety Rules

We are in the process to developing this page so that readers can understand the rules for using the club facilities and ranges safely. Here are some basic guidelines.

Please read the posted signage on each range and be cautious, courteous, and safe while using the ranges.

Please keep the shots and targets below and within the marked areas of the berms(dirt backstops) and be conscious of where the muzzle of your firearm is pointing at all times. Do not use rocks for back stops,or targets. They cause ricochets and we mow the ranges. The firing line is the front edge of the covered firing position structure on each range. No shooting should be done ahead of this line. Shooters on the range should collectively agree on a cease fire before moving ahead of the firing line. All firearms will have actions open and empty chambers(including Magazines out) before anyone goes downrange. No one is to handle any firearm at or behind the firing line while others are downrange!!

Portable target holders and targets of any kind should be removed from the range when you are done with your shooting. Garbage cans for paper, holders taken home. If you brought it in, please take it out with you. Please pick up your empty cases too! The buckets hanging are for brass cases only. Shotguns shells and steel cases go in the garbage cans.

If you see an unsafe act by fellow members, speak up. If it is not corrected, contact the president or a board member. We do not want to lose the use of OUR RANGES!!
